No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the detrimental feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
