Posted in Poker on 11/05/2024 02:25 pm by SkylaPhil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to learn whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative comments from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing love for poker. He says that he is learning every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
