NL Texas Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 in which he loved playing different card games at a young age. He discovered himself getting very aggressive in these particular card games while competing against his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a little bit and relocated to New York City to participate in some formidable chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were difficult as he would play extensive hours and do not win most times. He earned some extra money by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He believed he could better his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more sleep and focus more on the game.

The real improvement in his abilities happened when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest players would often challenge one another. Howard had access into some of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, he would sharpen his cunning thinking abilities. He used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit hold’em.

Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke master poker. Annie was an excellent student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker world ever. Howard headed to Sin City in 1993 and competed in money games for the following decade. When the WPT gained popularity, he made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
