NL Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 where he loved playing numerous card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming really aggressive in these card games while playing his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and relocated to New York City to play some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were difficult as he would play many hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He made some extra cash by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he possibly could improve his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more rest and concentrate more on the game.

The definite improvement in his skills happened when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best gamblers would often compete against each other. Howard was able to access a number of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, Howard would hone his logical thinking techniques. He applied these strategic concepts to the game of No-Limit holdem.

Howard Lederer also helped his sibling Annie Duke master poker. Annie was a superb student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. He told Annie Duke to move out to Sin City and compete in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best female players the poker world has ever seen. He relocated to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and competed in money games for the subsequent decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to compete in more tournaments.
