Posted in Poker on 10/16/2021 05:25 pm by SkylaPhil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse comments from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Even though Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
