Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match.
