Doyle Brunson’s moniker, "Texas Dolly," is a product of mispronunciation by Jimmy Snyder who was expected to say, "Texas Doyle" when saying Brunson except read the 1st name incorrectly. The name got stuck and his friends within the gambling world just call him Dolly.
Two Hold’em hands are called after Doyle Brunson. The Ten and Two of any suit is one such hand although the other is identified by his name and comprises of the Ace and Queen of any suit. The 2nd hand was named based on a comment in his publication that claims Doyle Brunson doesn’t play this hand. Doyle Brunson now has his own web-based Poker room called "Doyles Room".
